Description:
The new EX-Z50 produces beautifully detailed images and is easy to use. A high performance CCD and 5-million pixels of resolution provide sharp images, while the 3-segment telescoping 3X optical zoom lens provides plenty of resolution. And you get it all in a thin design. The EX-Z50 allows you to take up to 390 shots (continuous recording) on a single charge. Its 2.0-inch LCD monitor screen provides a clear view of subjects as you compose images for recording.
- A high-performance CCD, a powerful EXILIM engine, and 5 million pixels of resolution produce beautifully detailed images. A 3-segment telescoping 3X optical zoom lens provides plenty of resolution in a thin design. Optical zoom in combination with 4X digital zoom delivers up to 12X total zoom.
- Big monitor screen
CASIO original chip technology makes it possible to equip these models with a big, clear, high-contrast LCD monitor screen. An optical viewfinder window is incorporated into the glass of the EX-Z50 LCD device, which makes it possible to provide a larger display area in a camera that is the same size as previous models.

Super high-speed operation
The amazing speed of the new EXILIM models helps to ensure that they are always ready to capture those special moments whenever you are. Even though they are equipped with a telescoping lens, startup takes only 1.6 seconds.*2 Release time lag is a mere 0.01 second.*3
*2 Approximate; built-in flash off
*3 Approximate time from when the shutter release button is pressed from focus lock until the image starts to be recorded (flash off).
- Auto Pan Focus
Pressing the shutter button all the way automatically enters the Pan Focus (PF) mode for high-speed recording. Pan focus immediately performs a record operation without waiting for Auto Focus to be performed, which makes it easier to capture fast-moving subjects and subjects located where lighting is dim.
Image Capture
The EX-Z50 is designed for versatile, but simple operation. The Best Shot Scenes allow you to select a scene resembling the image you are trying to record. The camera then is configured automatically including recording mode, Auto Focus setting, and more. An on screen grid allows you turn on a display of grid lines to compose images better. Automatic focus features include Auto Macro and 7-point Multi AF to ensure images are captured in focus every time. Finding and manipulating images is easy using the full-month calendar screen, 0.1 second image scrolling, and image rotation features.
- Flash Assist
This CASIO original image processing function makes it possible for the camera to correct brightness automatically when recording subjects that are too far for the flash to reach. It helps make images that normally might be blacked out brighter and clearer.
- Auto Macro
The camera automatically switches to the appropriate focus mode when the shutter button is pressed. If the camera detects that the subject is in the range of 6cm to 50cm while the normal Auto Focus Mode is selected, it will automatically switch to the Macro Mode. This helps to images in focus, even if the camera setup is wrong.
- Movie Mode
Recording of a movie with sound can continue as long as there is memory available. A built-in speaker lets you check the audio as soon as you record it. Other audio features include audio snapshot (with audio recorded at the same time as the image or added later), and a Voice Recorder feature.
- 7-Point Multi AF
7-point Multi AF means you never need to worry about focusing again. When you press the shutter button, the camera automatically selects one of seven focus points, based on which one is aligned with the nearest subject, and focuses on that point. This helps to avoid loss of foreground images, and minimizes the change of images being out of focus.
Image Transfer
The EX-Z50 lets you do more with your images after you record them. The bundled USB cable provides easy connection to a computer, just place the camera onto the cradle and press the SB button to automatically transfer images from camera memory to a computer. Or you can connect directly to a printer that supports PictBridge, without going through a computer. The EX-Z50 is also compatible with PRINT Image Matching and Exif Print for high-fidelity print images.
